Rebecca Roberts grew up in a small town forty miles north of New York City where she spent her childhood playing dress up, collecting stickers, and building forts in the woods. She received her B.F.A. in Painting from Alfred University in 1996 and her M.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from The University of Iowa in 2000. In the summer of 2000, she and her dog Duke drove from Iowa to Brooklyn where they lived for six years. In New York, Rebecca exhibited her work at The Cooper Union, where she was an artist in residence in 2004, and at HEREArt, The Craft Students League, and The 92nd Street Y. She taught art in The New York City Public Schools and art education at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. She has also exhibited her work in Boston, Lynn and Marblehead, MA, Des Moines and Iowa City, IA, Burlington, VT, Chicago, IL, and in Memphis, TN.

Rebecca now makes her home and her art in Jamaica Plain, MA, and teaches drawing and painting at Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill. Her work was recently included in the Boston Paints exhibit at Endicott College in Beverly, MA. Currently, her work can be seen on the Julie Chae Gallery website and at Carroll and Sons Gallery, located at 450 Harrison Ave. in the South End, as part of The Boston Drawing Project.
